Job Purpose:
The Business Analyst - Product Development is responsible for gathering and analyzing business requirements, identifying market opportunities, and translating them into actionable insights and technical specifications for product development. This role serves as a bridge between business stakeholders, product managers, and development teams to ensure the successful creation and enhancement of products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements.
- Conduct detailed analysis of user needs and translate them into functional and technical specifications.
- Identify gaps in current product offerings and propose solutions.
- Assist the product management team in developing and maintaining the product roadmap.
- Analyze market trends, competitor products, and customer feedback to provide insights for roadmap planning.
- Prioritize product features based on business value and feasibility.
- Create process flows, use cases, and diagrams to visualize product workflows.
- Identify inefficiencies in current processes and recommend improvements.
- Ensure alignment between product features and business goals.
- Act as a liaison between business teams, technical teams, and product managers.
- Conduct regular meetings to update stakeholders on progress, challenges, and timelines.
- Prepare and present detailed reports and recommendations to key stakeholders.
- Work with quality assurance (QA) teams to ensure product features meet requirements.
- Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) and resolve issues identified during testing.
- Validate product deliverables against business requirements before deployment.
- Conduct market research to identify customer needs and emerging trends.
- Analyze product performance data to identify areas for improvement.
- Use analytics tools to monitor key metrics and report on product success.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including business requirements, user stories, and technical specifications.
- Ensure all documents are up-to-date and accessible to relevant teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Master’s degree or certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA) is a plus.
- 3–5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in product development or a similar role.
